Dubai Safari Park is one of the newest attractions that have sprouted in Dubai, replacing the aging Dubai Zoo, and is now home to more than 3,000 animal specimens. The Dubai Safari Park is spread across a staggering 119 hectares. This animal sanctuary opened its doors on the 12th of December 2017, and it aims to be a recreational as well as an educational attraction with both local and foreign animal species. While some of the animals have been donated from other zoos, some have been rescued and are placed here for rehabilitation.

About Safari Park

The most exciting activity to partake in among all of the parks activities, is the drive-through safari experience. It takes you right into the middle of the action, unbelievably close to the freely roaming wild creatures at the Open Safari Village, such as some ferocious Bengal tigers, wild wolves, some river hippopotamus’ among others. After these, there is also a crocodile drive-through exhibit which is quite unique, along with the UAE’s biggest lion and a splendid elephant drive-through exhibit. The place also has a 1000-seater theater, which hosts daily shows.

What is interesting to know is that the Safari park is totally energy efficient, with almost all of its facilities being powered by clean solar energy. In its lush landscape, the park has over 100 different varieties of plants and is truly ingenious in its brilliant waste disposal and water renewable usage techniques, along with innovative ideas like air-conditioned rocks, installation of misting machines and specially chilled pools that protect the inhabitants of the park from the unnatural scorching summer heat.
